  1. Trade off...

The ideal is travelling with someone else who keeps your hours, and shares your interests.

A walking holiday with someone who walks faster or slower than you is a nightmare.

Four of us once went on holiday and found we were more than two hours out of phase... two were up, dressed, breakfasted and ready to go by eight am.  Two were barely stirring by ten but were still going late at night when the first two were fading badly.

And worse, the early rising boy and girl had their dating partners in the other "phase".  At least at the beginning of the holiday.

I've tended to holiday alone for many years.

No arguments about timing, eating, destinations, changing plans... But I never was a "party animal".

    I'll see who I meet.

    Safety's not a particular issue for a middle-aged male.

A teenaged female might need to weigh that differently, in some places.

  2. I love travelling alone.  Going on a holiday with friends is great if it's to a set destination.  If you're actually travelling around though, by the time a group of you have decided where to head next and what to do today, the days over and its time to go to the pub!  When you're alone you more easily meet up with other people and have a much richer experience.

  3. Both can be very enjoyable. It's a thrill to share the experience with someone else that is like minded and the costs are less by half in many things. How ever I have travelled by myself from Australia to Switzeland with a stay in Ho Chi Minh City and a few hours in Paris. I loved it and was happy to be by myself and please myself when and where I went in Ho Chi Minh In Switzeland I meet up with Family. Also I travel with a friend around Australia and we are compatible and have a great time together. My sister travelled with a cousin overseas it become a nightmare . they both had different interest. So providing you can find the right person to go with then it should be good.

  4. I would say travelling with a friend is much safer and much much more fun !! pulse if you get sick you have someone to help you.I have travelled overseas quite a lot both by myself and with one friend and with a group of friends. Travelling with one friend is much easier than in a group, In a group theirs to many people to please, I hope this helps if not you can ask me for more info. cheers Julie

  5. TRAVELING WITH A PERSON IS BETTER CUZ U WOULD BE ALL ALONE AND BORED ON THE WAY AND U MIGHT EVEN SIT NEXT TO A CREEP TO ALSO WHEN U GET THEIR YOU WOULD HAVE FUN WITH YOUR FREIND OR JUS STAYING IN A HOTEL ON YOUR LAPTOP PLUS IT DEPENDS WHERE YOUR GOING SO IF YOUR GOING TO NEW YORK U DNT HAVE TO BRING A FREIND BUT IF ITS LIKE FREAKIN ROME DEFINTLEY BRING A FREAKIN FREIND WELL HOPED I HELPPED

  6. i prefer traveling with friends bc then i have someone to talk to when i'm bored and it calms me down to know that i'm not traveling alone. i think it makes it more fun, bc you have other people to do things and share experiences with,

  7. if you travel alone, you can do whatever you want to and be independant. you dont have to get dragged off to see things you might not want to see, and you wont have to take care of anyone but yourself. also, easier to organise.

but if you travel with friends, you can share the costs. and you can split up to look for things, and you can help each other because you'll have different skills and knowledge, and feed off each other's strengths and weaknesses. and, because you're friends, you'll enjoy each other's company, and can share good memories. tavelling together can only strenghthen your friendship. and you wont feel lonely, and you have someone to rely on.

    so, travel with a friend
