What is more important to a runner, core or legs?

also how strong should the legs be? for raw speed and so on.

  2. legs. u should b able to run at least a football yard in 1:30 mins

  3. sounds like you already no the legs r more important. you should be able to squat at least twice your bodyweight to be fast

  4. i think its more legs..because core just helps you beable to manuver more quickly..like in basketball

  5. It's all important but it is imperative that you look after and warm up those ankles, knees and hip joints. Can't stress that enough. They are the weakest part of the leg, also the most complex and can go wrong more often than slabs of muscle (quads, lumbar, glutes).

    Strength for raw speed is a difficult one to calculate, but if you want to go faster, sooner, you need to look at technique, eg, use the arms, lengthen the stride, relax shoulders etc.
