What is more popular rap or rock?

i think rap is more popular than rock.. i find that there are way more radio stations dedicated to rap than there are to rock, and rappers always seem to have more money (or at least they flaunt it more!!)

i think rock is better though because the songs actually have meaning, unlike some rap songs that just talk about money and hoes.. the older rap is good, but the newer stuff pretty much sucks!!

Technically rap is a subgenre of rock. But I think rap is more popular currently, and better is completely subjective. I say rap is better but I like a lot of rock so I say you should just choose both, it's not like you are required to only listen to one genre.

That's a tough one.

It seems that rap would be more popular, but there are also a ton of people who like rock better than rap. So... I dunno. Good question, though =)

Personally, I like rock better =) Never really liked rap.
