  1. When someone does an NVQ they spend four/three days at work then one day at college, so they're getting paid to do it and trained by the people they're working with, so when that person has got the NVQ qualification they're more likely to become employed by the people who you have already been working for.

A BTEC means you spend most of your time in college and then so many hours out on workplacement.

A BTEC is a more recognised qualification for people who are wanting to progress onto uni and a NVQ is a more recognised qualification for people who want to go straight into employment and just be trained for that specific job.

I would then say that an NVQ course is better for people who are training to be a chief. However a BTEC course is the same as doing an NVQ level 3 not a NVQ level 1. When people start at NVQ level 1 it's usually because they didnt get the right grades at school, so either do a NVQ level 3 or if like me you didnt get the grades you needed start at NVQ level 1 or 2 and work your way up.

    Good luck.

  2. can you do NVQ level 2 at college?

This would be much more worthwhile...

whereabouts in the UK are you?

    x*x

  3. NVQ isn't worth anything a 10 tear old could get that qualifcation
