What is most economical to run - a slow cooker or a fan oven on a low 150 degree slow roast?

If I stick a casserole in my fan oven for 4 hours is it costing more to cook than if I used a slow cooker?

  1. A slo cooker without a doubt.  When I use my oven my electric meter runs dry, but with the slo-cooker I use less electricity than it takes to burn a normal light bulb all day.


  2. use the slow cooker - that's what it's for!!! :-)

  3. 150ºF is too  low to adequately cook any food safely!  Raise temp to at least 185ºF!!!

    Slow cooker probably sucks less energy.
