  1. The Philippines are located at a convergent boundary. Mt. Pinatubo is a volcano typical of a convergent boundary.  Due to the fact that the actual islands are located to the west of the boundary some distance, this could be characterized as an Ocean-Ocean Junction.

    The Pacific plate is sub-ducting under the Philippine or Juan Fernandez micro plate.
