In my home, i have a front door...but i would say 95% of the time, we all come through the BACK door! So, for Feng Shui, what would be my "Main Entrance"?

  1. In feng shui, the "main entrance" usually refers to the architectural front door (yes, even if you don't use it much!).  There are ways to change this, but the easiest thing to do is use your Front Door from time to time.  Opening the door symbolically brings in energy, luck and opportunity.   Make sure it is well-lit, clean and inviting and everything (door bell, k**b, light) is in good working order.  Good luck!

  2. The facing direction of a house is the side from which is entering the largest amount of light. It is considered as the most important area from which the Qi is introduced in a space. In an apartment is customary that the facing direction has more windows or balconies with the best views, while the main door can be in a completely different direction. You must avoid the mistake of associating the main door with the facing direction, albeit it is somewhat common in classical buildings and rural areas.

So, if you use the back door, it will have more importance for you and your family as the main entrance and you should consider as such.

  3. front is official front door according to the house plan.

  4. i think your main entrance is where it is most yang, where it is close to the road, or where most of the windows are situated. so even if you are using your back door most of the time, your main door, if it is closer to the road than your back door, then i will still use the main front door in fengshui esp in calculating for the flying star chart.
