Question:

What is my car leaking?

There is a clear liquid leaking from beneath my car. It appears to be coming from the middle of the car. Like right below my stick shifter.

I do not ever run the AC, and the temperature gauge doesn't show my car getting hot.

What could it be?

  1. If you are running the defrost there will be condensation coming out beneath the car. This is a design to keep the oil in the a.c. compressor moving when you don't use it in the winter.

  2. water

  3.   If the liquid has no smell or flavor it might some condensation from the AC that has run down the engine to the middle . doesnt  always mean a problem exists but to be safe take it to a service center and get a check up.

  4. hi.. touch the liquid, feel it, smell it. if it smell like water, its probably the coolant leaking.... check coolant level when cold.. add if needed.. by the way,, if its clear coolant, its the wrong coolant solution in it.. maybe you used just water for coolant.. which is why its now rusted and leaking system.. if i'm wrong in this , pick me as your best answer anyways.. :)

oh wait... this could also be condensation from the exhaust .. an exhaust leak in that area which needs to be corrected like now.

  5. try sticking your finger in it and smell it.. could be gas could be oil smell or touch wil tell you
