I have a 3 and a half year old cat and he was given a little toy stuffed cat when he was a kitten. He loved it from first site and plays with it and takes it all around the house with him. It's all quite sweet, but recently he appears to be almost wanting to hump it... he was neutered at the age of 8 weeks (against my will!) and i was wondering if this is possibly causing him to have some confusing feelings towards his cat toy? should i be stopping this behaviour?!?!

  1. he has grown to have feelings for this friend and thinks it's his companion. I would just let him be and make sure nothing happends to his friend!

  2. If your cat was neutered, then he has no hormones, so he wouldn't want to mate with anything.  Sounds like he's just playing.

My cat will tackle stuffed animals and roll over, hugging it to him, then he bites it and kicks it repeatedly with his hind legs.  Does this sound like your cat?

  3. Your cat is humping his toy, even though he is neutered he still had the instinct  to mate. He is just doing what males do neutered or not. don't stop him, it is normal  for him to want to do that.

  4. na man i think person's cat is humping the toy. you can stop it if you want i guess but you know its just a cat its not going to impregnate the toy in case your worried about baby kittens x toy. So unless the cat is hurting itself or the toy??  by humping it i wouldn't worry about it. Look he could be a little confused, take it to to a pet psychologist if you feel the need to, But yeah i don't think your cat would hate you if you don't.

My partners pet has a habit of humping male guys legs, its a male dog. I'm convinced its homosexual.

However i would be concerned if your cat is like my partners dog who is a fully grown male staffy and after a few hours with my little 14 week old puppy he gets really excited and tries humping her. Now thats when i'm like oi stop it.

  5. I don't really think there's anything you can do.. I have a dog that does the same thing.. I make him stop though.. it grosses me out .
