What is my chance to get into University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign?

I am Asian. International student. Lived in Virginia for 4yrs (5 until college) Wanted to apply to U of I Engineering.

My info:

Weighted GPA: 4.04 Unweighted: 3.78 No Ranking in my school

SAT 1720 (V-490, M-720, W-510)

SAT II Math lv2 800

AP Classes: BC Calc, Statistics, Computer Science AB, European History, American History, Language and Composition.

5 - BC Calc

4 - Stat.

Others are not qualified.

3 yrs of computer classes

Varsity Debate and Speech Team. Junior yr: Virginia State Policy Debate Champion.

Rifle Team.

National Honor Society.

Technology Student Association.

Honor Roll

Regional Science Fair 2nd place

200 Volunteer work (Chess coach and library computer assistant)

1 month of work experience in a computer company (Nortel Networks)

next verbal is going to be above 550, math ~750, writing ~580. Minimal. I want to ask what my chance to get into the Engineering Department. If I not qualified, what my score should be and what else can I do? Thanks and be honest.

  1. You shouldnt worry at all.

    I am more than sure you will be accepted, but if you're still doubtful, check out the site www.cappex.com, you make a profile, and theres a meter than actually tells you your chances of any school in the US.

  2. The only people that can answer this question are the people at UIUC. YOu seem to be a well-rounded student, though, so I'd be shocked if they weren't interested in you. However, schools choose different students for different reasons, so no one here can surely state that you'll be accepted.

  3. Apply to the school and find out.  No one here can tell you unless there is an admissions person reading your question.
