I'm a CNA and I was getting a new job with a firm to work and they did their Tb test which tested positive, I was given the chest xray and i am waiting for the results, but the Dr. that I had to see to give the order for it was very sure that my xray would come back positive also, now I am asthmatic and I have a heart condition S.V.T. what are my chances for survival, and how likely will it be for my children to catch TB and what are their chances since they too are asthmatic?

  1. I couldn't answer you but I wish you well

  2. Are your children updated on there TB shots? If so, there odds are fine. Children often times are not as susceptible to diseases as such like adults are.

The fact you have Supraventricular Tachycardia should not *GREATLY* affect your Tuberculosis. There are many different treatments out for TB these days.

    You should be fine.

  3.    Just because you had a positive TB test, it does not mean that you have the disease.  It means that you have been exposed.   Even if you do have TB, you will be fine- even with the other health problems.   If you are positive for TB, you will likely be isolated and be placed on antibiotics to treat it.    From now on, you will only get chest x-rays, not the arms test.

  4. tb is contagious bad. there are outbreaks all the time. don't go around your kids too much till you find out. hope all gets better for you and your family. if you get treated you should be ok but that's up to a doctor to tell you not anyone on here.

  5. Having a positive TB test only means that somewhere along the way you were exposed to someone who had TB, and your body developed antibodies to the TB.  Your doctor couldn't possibly be positive that your chest x-ray would come back positive unless you were showing all kinds of symptoms like coughing up a lung at the time of the exam.  Your chances of survival?  You are overreacting.  You don't even know the chest xray results yet.  Just be calm, you're fine.  They'lll just put you on an island in Hawaii, but that won't be ALL bad.
