I've been riding for almost 6 years. I can walk, trot and canter. I can also jump 3ft. I do compete in horse shows. I went to a show last week and got 3rd in equitation on the flat and 4th in pony hunter under saddle out of at least 10 people. I came 8th in equitation over fences and in pony hunter over fences out of 20 people. The jumps were 2'3.

I can complete a course of 8 jumps at the canter with the height of the jump that varies from 2'3 ft to 3 ft.

I can do collection and extension at the walk, trot and canter.

I also ride bad and crazy ponies.

  1. ooo, u ride bad and crazy ponies, u are awosome. u dont kno bad or crazy until u try to ride a stallion that has never had a saddle on him, but id give u intermedat i also judge some shows

  2. omg! you ride mad and crazy ponies- how do you cope???? hahaha

did you ever think they be 'mad and crazy' is because of you or other ignorant people thinking their amazing riders and ruin them? i am most definatly dont the best rider in the world but i certainly know when its my fault for messing something up.... maybe you should learn that too? so i would say that you are a beguinner as you clearly dont have an understanding of horses

if you dont like what i have to say then dont read it.... nobody is forcing you.... you asked my oppinion and i have stated what it is.....

  3. I would say that you are an Ineterminate rider.

    Sorry about the spelling..

  4. I would agree with most of the answerers, intermediate sounds about right. imho, to be classified as advanced, you would have to be either a professional or a very skilled amateur that has had a lot of miles and trained many different horses (so very experienced older teens or adults)

  5. I would probably say in between novice and intermediate only due to the fact that you cant gallop yet, because to be able to gallop means you have other riding pointers established, such as balance, seat and control. But you are a good rider, just keep improving.

  6. Advanced, but advanced is a very broad category.  Overall- advanced, to jumping- Intermediate.

But, so you ride bad and crazy ponies? The question is can you school them into good ponies and get the best out of them?

  7. don't listen to the 1st person, they are rude. You are prob.. an intermediate rider. Prob. not advanced yet. Being an advanced rider is not just being able to stay on and do good. Advanced is knowing your horse inside in out. I ride arabians and we focus a lot on extension, collection, and driving from teh back. We look at hock action and building muscle. If you can do all of this, then that is great. I would put an advanced rider in training a horse to not just to gaits, but all of the above. so over all your prob. beg. more toward intermediate. prob early intermediate.

  8. probably intermediate, you may be able to ride well but how are your ground manners and can you lunge, break etc.

You may be able to ride what you think are "crazy and bad ponies" what do they do that is crazy, bomb? kick a bit?

Try riding youngstock just broken! rears up at cars, flying bucks and tries to bite you when your mounted!

Id say your intermediate, which is good.
