She is always sitting at the bottom of the cage. She has panic attacks quite often. She is not eating and drinking as much as she used to. It seems like she cannot fly and she falls asleep every minute. There is no bird doctor in my area so i cannot take her to one. The lady at bird store I took her to said that she might have an ear infection.

  1. say goodbye, not to be rude i am really meaning this as a nice thing ok. it sounds like your bird is going through a really hard time and the best thing that you can do is care for it.

  2. My other parakeets had signs like that. They would easily get weak, fall to the bottom of the cage, and rest with no energy. They could not eat. I took one (the one that had it) to the bird vet and he said that the bird had a type of disease, so he gave a type of medicine. Unfortunately it was too late and the bird died. Soon my other bird got it and died also. The bird I currently have was given a pill, that cleaned the bird's system so it wouldn't get the disease and it currently does not have any. I think your bird has some type of disease that's making it weak. I hope it gets better!! :)

  3. Do you burn scented candles in your room? Do you or does anyone in your house smoke? Do you spray air fresheners?

If you answered yes, this is what is about to kill your bird. NOT an ear infection.

  4. Check out this link:

you describe sickness symptoms. Are the feathers fluffed? Very probably is a bacterial infection. If the symptoms coincide you could give her as soon as you can an avian wide spectrum antibiotic based in sulfanilamide. It could be buy in any pet store. This medicine is inexpensive.

Hope your bird get better soon.
