Have you forgotten your password? Doesn't your computer prompt you giving your some clue? This is something you would have put there yourself to help you remember the password. Do you have a start-up disk?

You do not mention what computer or software you are using.

Try the following: When you first start up your computer, quickly press to F8 and F12 keys alternatively. In the screen that opens select open in Safe Mode. This should enable you to bypass the need for your password. Now if you had only recently put your password into your computer, you can restore your computer to a date prior to that.

Alternatively, in safe mode, you will be able backup your files and documents to cd or dvd or external HD. This may be a long process depending upon how many files you need to save.

Once you have copied all your important files externally, you can reformat your computer hard drive and reload windows and your other software.

Now you should be able to set up a new password. This time keep a record of it in a safe place so that you do not have this trouble again.
