I don't know if different nationalities use other terms or calculations but it is the British definition I'm after.

  1. 1st cousin once removed

  2. So your grandmother must share a grandparent with your cousin.

So that shared grandparent is your gg grandparent.

Shared grandparents first cos, g grand 2nd, gg grad 3rd - + two generations different.

I am going for 3rd cousins twice removed.

But I am not putting my money where my mouth is  :-)

  3. CB and Shirley have it right. The calculation is indeed the same with the British as the rest of the world. You are first cousins twice removed.

  4. According to Wikipedia, "My grandparent's first cousin and I are first cousins twice removed (two different generations) differrence between us)."

  5. I think it's first cousin twice removed.

  6. Ok, I've tried to put it here in a generational form that makes sense, hopefully it does. I just used all women relatives for ease.

Gen 1......................... your  great great g'ma

Gen2 ..your great g'ma ===.her sister- your great great aunt

Gen 3....your g'ma.............her cousin -your 1st cuz twice removed

    Gen 4.......your mom............your 2nd cousin once removed

    Gen 5.........you ....................your third cousin

  7. According to my relationship calculator your grandmothers cousin is your 1st cousin twice removed

I used my own family, and took grandmothers cousin to be her fathers brothers child.

  8. come on...you're not even in the same fu*ing family !!

  9. According to the chart I have it's 3rd cousin

  10. First cousin twice removed.  You are two generations removed form each other.  You would be a first cousin once removed to your mother's first cousin.

  11. If A is your grandmother's first cousin, then you are A's first cousin twice removed.  If A is your grandmother's second cousin, then you are A's second cousin twice removed.

Let's say your grandmother is your mother's mother.  If A has a daughter (B), and A is your grandmother's first cousin,  then your mother and B are second cousins, and you are B's second cousin once removed. If B also has a daughter (C), then you and C are third cousins.
