What is my visual acuity based on my contact lens prescription of -7.00?

I forgot to ask the optometrist today...my new contacts are -7.00 and was wondering how that translates in terms of vision (20/20-wise).

Any suggestions are appreciated.

  1. That's impossible to know just by knowing the prescription. There are too many variables that can affect what your visual acuity is to get any kind of accurate answer, especially in high prescriptions like yours.

You could call them back tomorrow and ask, they should have that in your file .

  2. Visual acuity is something that is measured by reading an eye chart.

Consult an Optometrist and he will measure your visual acuity.
