What is nakhon patom is?

Nakhon Pathom as the previous answer stated is 56 km. northwest of Bangkok and an easy drive or bus ride from Bangkok. I've been there and there really isn't much to do or see there, a temple there has the largest chedi in Thailand and the temple houses some relics of Buddha, but unless you know someone there, there are a lot more interesting places to go in Thailand than Nakhon Pathom.
