  1. The car can't have any rust holes in it.

    All lights and signals must work.

    The brakes must be 30% or more left.

    The front suspension and steering must be tight.

    Pay particular attention to the ball joints.

    There can be no major leaks.

    The tires must have 3/16" tread in all places.

    Exhaust must be run over the rear axle before exiting.

    Many more items.

    Do the obvious ones, and then It is usually best to take it in and pay for the inspection.

    You then only have to fix the ones they specify.
