  1. First: What state do you live in? For rifles unless you live in like 1 of 4 states you don't need liscencing. I believe you have asked this before but I'm not sure. Specifics on where you live would be of great use.

  2. No you don't need a license.  However, city codes generally don't allow the discharge of firearms in city limits (usally air guns are excluded).

  3. check out your local NRA, they can tell you what to do

  4. In the U.K a clean record, no convictions. A secure lock box/cabinet and a good reason why you want to own one. Best if you join a local gun club for a while, they will give you all the info you need as will the local plod

  5. First off 4 passport photos and £50 for your application. You will also need to sort out 2 referees for your application. These people must be good standing members of the community and not family members.

You must have a lockable steel cabinet to store the rifle with either a lockable top box or separate lockable ammo safe. These must be bolted to the wall. The police will inspect your security before granting a certificate. They will also scrutinise  your paper work. If the police make an appointment to check your security your almost home and dry.

You have a valid reason for the rim fire for pest control so therefore you can have expanding ammo. You need to note how many rounds you wish to purchase and store. Also note on you application the type of rifle your wish to purchase and also you'll need a moderator for sub sonic ammo.

    Good luck.

  6. I, would suggest that you check with your local law enforcement agency & see what they say

  7. Good answer from super61, but he forgot to mention that you will need permission and clearance for that calibre on some land. After first renewal you can get open ticket, but until then you need cleared land.

  8. Where are you?

  9. i think you do now yes.

  10. You dont need a license.

  11. WHAT STATE!?!?!?!?!?

  12. You really need to tell us what province/state and country you live in since different provinces/states and countries have different requirements. In the United States you generally don't need a license to buy a .22 rifle (except perhaps in California and a few other nutcase states). In Canada, United Kingdom, Australia the requirements will be more stringent. The best I can do is point you at this site and tell you to investigate your country's laws starting there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_law
