What is needed for solar power?

Question

my initial goal is to charge a battery for a water pump. it is on 220.

When the power goes out (annually) we need to pump for showers, drinking and cooking as we are only on well....and only electric. :(

? pannells and watts?

? size of inverter

? size and volts of battery

Any thing else i will need? I am also not sure how to connect to the pump- via the battery directly or via the 220 panel but have the battery feed the house system.

Power from the Panels is DC, so is the battery. you would have to run the power from battery through the inverter.

Check the web pages of any supplier, they will provide the information of the watts and voltage of the panels.

You say the pump is 220, I'm assuming this is Volts, you need to see what the Volt/Amp rateing is or the Power ( Volts*Amps. }
