I just got my jet ski trailer and it has no lights. What kind of light kit would be the best for me. In and out of the water at the boat launch and everything.

  1. Make sure that the lights meet your state requirements, first off.   If you ramp-launch, look for lights that are either sealed permanently, have gaskets to seal out moisture, are entirely removable or that use the bell-jar principle to keep water out.

LED lights are the way to go, and are not that expensive today.  And BTW  - enjoy the jet ski!!

  2. I just picked up a light kit for my sailboat trailer at Walmart for $20 that includes harness, 3 function lights, side marker lights, and all necessary hardware.  The set I'm replacing is nine years old; I got the whole set and not just lights because the wiring harnes had abraded and needed to be replaced.  Granted, it's not super marine quality, but the $20 plus $3 for a can of lithium grease for the bulb sockets and an hour of my time is a small investment for what I expect to be 5+ years of service.

  3. Grote makes a kit that plugs into you tow light hitch, the kit has two red sealed light that are magnetic. so when you went to lauch you could just pull them off. Or wire in a couple of 3 function sealed lights.
