Neem oil is the oil that is expressed from the seeds of the Neem tree.  It is very high in essential fatty acids and thus will become hard at room temperature.  I think it smells like really burnt onions!

It supposedly is very effective as an antifungal, antibacterial, etc.

It was also used as an effective birth control that has no toxic side affects like birth control pills that eventually cause cancers.

It's lost knowledge, kind of like tee tree oil on the ends of tampons in Europe kills yeast infections while Americans are spending a mint on monostat.
