  1. A network is basically two or more computers sharing the same resources. You must have a server and a client. One is the one that will house the resources and the other will use it.

  2. Actually David your missing a few parts...

A network can be a client/server but a network can be just as simple as a peer to peer too.

A network can also be node to node... so instead of going from peer to peer or client/server where you need computers and servers, you can make a network out of a router and computer, router to router, etc. A "node" is just a geek word for "device" whether it would be a computer, router, modem... etc.

A network is used to share resources and communicate with others.

  3. A network is a connected group of computers or devices. It allows you to seamlessly and effortlessly transfer and share information (videos, pictures, music, document etc,) between the networked devices.

Networking could be wired or wireless and involves (usually) a set of protocols.

You can find more detailed information about different types of networks here: http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/basic...

  4. A wireless network is when lots of computers connect to the internet from on little box (the router).

A home network is when computers within around 100 meters connect up and either share files, access each others desktop, connect to the internet ect.
