  2. Lamb is one of them and a very popular Roast dinner on a Sunday. They also love there pumpkin and sweet potato with it . The maori people have a hangi when they celebrate with friends often. This is where they cook the meat and vegetables in the ground . Pavalova is one of the specialties for desert also Lamingtons. New Zealand has the best of fish and a huge variety. Very popular is the rainbow trout ,Oysters and whitbait.
