  1. I LIKE THIS QUESTION. Maybe the, so called, "holodecks" like what was depicted in several Star Treks.

  2. H'er D?

  3. We have been stuck with 480i (standard def) since the late 1940's and it took an act of Congress to force the change to higher resolution and digital.

There are some experiments being done with higher resolution video images (in the 2040 lines), but this will likely not become available to the public.

The HDMI cable has features to allow more color depth on existing HD video signals that have not been implimented yet.

  4. The format, called Ultra High Definition Video, or UHDV, has a resolution 16 times greater than plain-old HDTV, and its stated goal is to achieve a level of sensory immersion that approximates actually being there.

At a picture size of 7,680 by 4,320 pixels -- that works out to 32 million pixels -- UHDV's resolution trounces even high-end digital still cameras. HDTV, by comparison, has about two million pixels, and normal TV about 200,000 (and only 480 lines of horizontal resolution versus 4,000 with UHDV).

  5. 3D laser-enhanced holographic surround-vision display in 17280p.

  6. I believe they call it Super HD which is to have double the resolution of 1080p or more.

  7. 3D  or maybe ID for Bush 'reforms'
