  1. It means that no scientific studies have been done to prove the effectiveness of that medicine/herb/etc. This is either because it does not actually work or the manufacturer can't or won't put up the money for the study because it sells well enough anyway.

  3. Brian A is mostly right, but it's more than that. Typically, "no approved therapeutic claim" is actually the same type of warning as "these statements have not been approved by the FDA"... it's standard rhetoric for supplements because the FDA in many ways doesn't want to address supplements.

    Basically, the FDA won't allow them to make medical claims (like therapeutic results), but they won't deny their sale on the market (assuming they aren't dangerous for human consumption).

    The company is basically just saying "we can't claim this will give any therapeutic benefits, just that it's good for health maintenance".
