What is noise reduction when it comes to projectors?

i was reading a review on the Epson 720 and it seems outstanding in alot of fields exept noise reduction, whatever it is, its not a deal breaker because i still really like this projector.

  1. Noise reduction is circuitry to reduce analog noise in the video signal. It doesn't apply to digital signals since the "noise" in digital signals is of a different type.


  2. Are you sure you don't mean "noise level"?  Projectors all have cooling fans, and some can be quite noisy. A typical projector spec sheet will list the fan noise level as, for example 30 dB (decibels). For home use a value under ~28 dB is considered desireable, while buisiness projectors or large venue projectors can be somewhat more.

    "Noise reduction" makes no sense since projectors don't reduce noise ... as stated, they produce it.
