  1. Non verbal communication is as important as verbal.  It includes all the small facial gestures we make e.g. disgust at a bad smell, contempt, disinterest - we would show all of these on our face. Also things like breaking eye contact with someone so that they know it is their turn to speak, hand gestures, how we stand, our posture, what we do with our hands.  There are many, many examples. If you were a woman, and you straightened a man's tie, others would get the impression (and so would he!) that you would like to get to know him.  If you met someone and they immediately crossed their arms you'd probably get a bad impression of them because this is defensive body language.  Salesmen are actually taught how to come across as open and friendly by the non-verbal communications they send out to customers.  So it's important for all of us as social animals.

  2. Non verbal is communicated with actions, such as crying, shrugging, curling up, etc. Non-verbal allows for things that words cannot be put to.

  3. non verbal is where u dont speak. u write. it is important so that you can be tested on how well you speak but also how well you can write.

  4. non-verbal what? non verbal=physical action rather than spoken. for example, body language is non-verbal.

  5. Getting the message across without using actual words...I.e. Using hand gestures/body language...
