  1. "normal" is considered <120 / < 80 for the least risk of cardiovascular problems.  To determine this, it should be an average of two or more readings taken at two or more visits, as many factors can alter these numbers, including the skill level of the person taking the pressure!

  2. 120/80 was considered normal.. now it is 110/70

  3. It varies with age. Lower in younger people.

120/80 is the normal BP value.

  4. 120/80.

The important thing to recognize is that the first number, the systolic pressure, can vary more than the second number. For example, it is better to have 140/80 than 120/90. This is because the second number, the diastolic pressure is a measure of how well your heart is refilled by blood, and do not vary with activity. The first number however can vary a lot depending on what you do before you measure your pressure (for example exercise).

    You don't average the numbers.

Normal b.p. also depends on the person. Some people just have higher b.p. while others have lower. Try consulting a doctor if you are worried about your b.p.

  5. Normal is different for everyone. sometimes its 100 plus your age; like (at 16 yrs old, its 116/60) The top number is like the heart active, the bottom, is when its at rest).  The bottom number should never be over 100; (over 100 is dangerous). My blood pressure (top number) is normal now, at 98; below 100 is not common; but my father has that, and I 'run low' = I am 52 year old female, so having lower blood pressure is good. Sometimes mine is 120/65. Sometimes 98/63. Best is to have it checked at regular visits; and see what is normal for you. Then you will know if there are any big changes in yours. If yours is high blood pressure, get doctors help; take medicine as prescribed.

  6. its nearly 120/80 ± 5 degrees in healthy adult person, 120 represents the blood pressure during heart contraction and 80 represents blood pressure during rest, blood pressure means the force or load the blood exerts on the walls of the blood vessels, it increases by age, exercise and many diseases
