  1. a notice period is normally stuck in my the hiring company  -- it is the time that you are required to give the company before quiting -- so since you are really want this job and a month goes by very fast i would put 4 weeks which means that you will give the company 4 weeks notice upon quiting!!!

  2. A notice period is the amount of time an employee has to give from the time he decides to quit until he actually stops working.  In this context, since it is on your job application, the company is asking how much notice you need to give your current employer before you actually stop your current job.  In other words, they want to know when you'd be free to start.  It sounds like you are not currently working, so the answer would be "I am available immediately."
