What is obeince? or obeynce?

my friend said i could pick obeynce instead of community service.

he said it was better.

he didnt tell me what it was though

i got court for pullin a d**n fire alarm >.(

Abeyance is the proper spelling.  I don't think all states offer it, but if your friend is getting into trouble too, he probably knows it's available.

Typically, if you enter your plea in abeyance, you are pleading guilty or no contest, but the judge withholds sentencing you on the condition that you comply with certain requirements that are agreed upon by your attorney and the prosecuting attorney.  Either way, you're still having a guilty plea on your file.

In the future, it's probably easier to just not break the law. :)
