I think you mean offset printing. They may use a special "offset ink", but not sure...

Offset printing works like a roller with an image screen on it, which rolls in the ink color required, then rolls that image onto a rubber roller, which in turn rolls its ink onto the paper. It's called offset because the image is transfered from the screen to the roller to the paper, instead of directly onto the paper (direct).
