What is offsides in soccer? I don"t get it.

  1. When one of the team mates goes to pass the ball to a striker on their team, if the striker touches the ball when they are closer to the net than the opposing team's defence players, the striker is considered offside. In order to not be offside, the striker needs to have the opposing teams defence men closer to their own net.
