In my 10 gallon tank there's a little bundle of egg-like things. They're the size of a pen tip. There's about 5 or 6 of them. I have 3 cories, do they lay eggs that small?

  1. Probably eggs,  You should check the other sides of the tank and using a razor blade, scrape the eggs off and put in a separate container.  The corys will eat their eggs.  The young are adorable and fun to watch.

Some Corys have been known to lay eggs on the sides of aquarium, and I've had some that did so.

They do not protect their eggs, but will eat them if not removed.

And Cory fry do need a gulp of air after hatching.

See below site for more info.  Check the "Breeding" section.

  2. Well, those do sound small to be cory eggs. And no cory's do not protect there young. They scatter eggs and leave, they will also eat eggs. I say put them in there owne heater filtered tank and wait. Do not let them touch air, depending on the species that could kill them. It could take up to a month for them to hatch.

  3. I am no egg expert but corydoras do not lay eggs on an aquarium wall they lay there eggs on the gravel and protect them. I think a possibility is snail eggs because i am a snail breeder and a bundle of eggs surrounded by a gel with small eggs inside sounds like a snail i think corydora eggs would be bigger. Snail eggs definitely fit the description. Is it possible that you bought a live plant with snails or snail eggs on them and you just never noticed them!
