  1. w***e Houses are Legal & you can drink Beer at 16

  2. according to a BMW dealer, they don't like to drink (not just alcohol, ANYTHING, ever soda or water) while driving.

or maybe that was his excuse for them not having cupholders.

i asked my german teacher, i'm pretty sure she agreed. i asked her a while ago though.

oh and the lead singer of the band "killerpilze" is HOT.

    to the power of 5.

    million.

    gajillion.

    and more.

oh oh, and a lot of Americans cause crashes on the autobahn because they drive too slowly.

  3. @ Kimberly yes and Hitler wasn't a German...he was Austrian too!

Tourists like it that on many 'Autobahnen' (expressways) is no speed limit! There are tourists just coming to Germany to hire a fast car and to bomb down the motorway! My friend who is living in America always enjoys that she can drive as fast as she wants when she's in Germany!;-)

  4. Hello,

Idk about interesting, but a common misconception about Germany is that Germany started World War I. Alot of people believe this and its not true. Germany did NOT start WWI, but its neighbor Austria did, after an assassination. Anyways...

    Smiles,

    Kim~

  5. Containers. Waste containers in all sorts of colors. Germans separate their waste and put it into some plastic bins at their homes, or deliver their waste to public collecting stations. You know these letter enevelopes with bubble wrap in them, where people use to send small items in, like something you bought from ebay? If they can't be reused (and Germans use them over and over again), they tear them apart and separate the bubble wrap from the paper, to put both into the right container: blue is for paper, yellow is for plastic.

Then there's the thing about bottles. There's a glass container in every village, and it has three slots: white glass, brown glass, and green glass. The glass gets sorted out at the recycling facility anyway, but people stand before those containers and separate their bottles to throw them into the right slot.

Besides of that, there's the climate change. Germans are afraid of the climate change and buy every little piece of nonsense to save energy without considering how much the production of that little widget cost. You only have to say "climate change", and you can sell them everything.

There would be more funny facts about Germany I could tell you about, but I think I leave it to that for now. I'm a native, you know, and I'd like to avoid that one of my fellow countrymen hangs me high on some old oak tree...

  6. They are very skeptical of their tap water.  You will almost never be able to get just a glass of water in a restaurant for instance.  If you ask for "just water" they will get you bottled water, which will most likely be carbonated unless you specifically ask for it not to be.  Drinking fountains are also quite rare.

  7. germany once had 2 sides, west germany and east germany, divided by the berlin wall

  8. no speed limit on the autobahn highways

  9. In regards to good bakeries - people will stand in line long before the bakery opens just to get hot, fresh bread. And, believe me, it's worth it!

There are no free refills at any restaurants - drinks are very expensive and you only get one glass full!

  10. there are around 20.000-25.000 castles in germany

    Not intact castles included

  11. Believe it or not: We're actually NOT all n***s!

I estimate that over 50% of the British didn't yet

    realize this.

Seriously, I've had about 5 Brits call me "NaziCunt"

    on MSN!

    This is not funny!

    Actually, it is =]
