  1. Well, it may have been made in some form since the time of the Ancient Egyptians, but was perfected as Horchata by Valencians when the Muslims introduced it there.

    Kind of more of an origin, but I don't know what you need...


  2. In Spain, it usually refers to orxata de xufes (horchata de chufas), made from tigernuts, water and sugar.

    The idea of making horchata from tigernuts comes from the period of Muslim presence in Valencia (from the 8th to 13th century).

    Tigernut horchata is also used in place of milk by the lactose intolerant.

  3. All I know is that I love a glass or horchata with my carne asada.
