  1. Personal Experience: June 2007 I went to my first Dover race and got to walk on the track during pre-race activities. Than it down poured for like 14 hours. The very next day I got to see my hero/ favorite driver win his very first Sprint Cup race. Martin Truex Jr.

  2. I've got to many to name, but I'd say when Dale Jr won the Daytona 500, I was there it was awesome and I got to be in Victory Lane.. Talk and tears and beer, all were flowing..

I was also at the Daytona 500 that Ned Jarrett called his son Dale for the win on TV, I had to watch it on tape as I was at the race, it was great a special moment for all, again more tears..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  3. Daytona 500, 1979.  THE CLASSIC.  It put Nascar on the map.  Donnie Allison pushing Cale Yarborough to the infield grass & Yarborough putting Allison in the backstretch wall on the LAST lap.  Cale got out, punched Donnie & then his brother, Bobby, stopped to help out & he got a few shots in the head, too.  Bobby likes to tell the story that his fists got beat up with Cale's face but Cale was a golden gloves boxer & he tapped both their heads pretty good before they knew what hit 'em.  The ONLY shots they got on Cale was when he was being held & they got to him.  Richard Petty won the race & the nation fell in love.

It is truly Nascar's most classic memory.  And I saw it all!

  4. Jeff Gordon putting the bump and run on Rusty Wallace to win at Bristol. Man was Rusty fired up because of that...!!! That or either when Ward Burton threw his helmet at Dale Jr at the same track.

Got to love those classic Bristol Kodak moments...!!!

  5. The spin:  when Dale spun Terry at Bristol for the win, and also the year before when Terry won spinning across the line with a smashed hood.

    Also.. personal memory

The last race I went to. The final one at Rockinham, where Kenseth beat out Kahne by inches. There was a car flipping down the back stretch, Army Parachuters smashing into trucks and missing the track all together. (that was horrible sight though).   That was one of the best races Ive been to, and being the last one at the Rock makes it Classic to me.

  6. Tony Stewarts first road course win. I was their

  7. To me THE BEST was meeting Dale Sr. heading South on I95 in 1994.  And getting to know him as a person before I even watched NASCAR.   That short and sweet meeting was the reason I watched just to see who he was and I have been in love with racing ever since.

Bitter was his dying in 2001 and on to race in the Heaven 500.

I have a lot of favorites but one I was just talking about today to some friends was when  Elliott Sadler's #38 M&M car broke loose in the tri-oval area of Talladega on the final lap of the EA Sports 500.  Elliots car sailed through the air and landed on all four wheels NEAR the finish line. Sadler got 23rd-place finish, (lost 10 positions during his 190-mph pirouette).  Jr.went on to win that race. Everybody cheered because Jr. won and Elliot walked away from the wreck at the same time.  We all wondered Sadler and Jr. fans alike, if Elliot flew OVER the start/finish line ahead of Jr. if he would have won that day.  LOL

  8. I still remember last year's Daytona 500...

Everyone was pulling for Mark Martin, then Kevin Harvick leaps from nowhere and then... chaos.  Everyone starts crashing, Biffle goes form 5 to 25th and Bowyer crosses the finish line on his roof.  It was spectacular, that was probably the perfect ending.

To me, that's the ideal finish of any race; a surprise ending.

  9. Good: Dale Jr. winning at Michigan last week.

Good: Dale Jr. winning the Daytona 500.

Bad: Kyle Busch spinning Dale Jr. at Richmond

Bad: Kevin Harvick beating Mark Martin in the Daytona 500

(although it was the best 500 I've ever seen, well, maybe 2nd best) (2004)

  10. I have to agree with the answer given by "the biff". 2007 Daytona 500.. I have not been a Nascar fan for all that long, I just started really following it about 4 years ago, and I have been a Harvick fan since I started following it.

I remember the caution that was out, and listening to Harvick and his spotter on the scanner.. They were talking about what they were going to do after the caution, and Harvick asked if he was going to make a run, who behind him was going to go with him, and the spotter put him on hold to ask the other spotters, and then there was some back and forth conversation of exactly Harvick was going to try to get in front. And then all you heard from the spotter is "ready, ready, green green green", and well, you know the rest.

After Harvick won, he was so happy, that he hit his rear view mirror so hard while pumping his fist, he broke it right off the windshield.

  11. Good : 2004 When Dale Jr won the 500

Good: Dale Jr winning Micigan Last Week

Good: Dale Sr won the 500  in 1998

  12. My most memoriable moment in NASCAR was Senior's death.  My story is a bit different from everyone else it's not my memory that I still hold it's that of my good buddy Mike. Don't get me wrong I loved Sr. I watched him perform since I was a little girl waaay back. When he won Daytona I stood and cheered along with the world I suppose, it was the most awesome moment I had witnessed, till his death.

But, my friend Mike was the biggest fan I have ever known. He was lucky enough to have met him several times, he lived and breathed Sr. My friend Mike is a man-ly man, all hunting, fishing, building, farming type dude. Nothing phases him and nobody would mess with him.

Mike managed and still does manage a body shop at a Chevy dealership. The day senior died I was with my friend Mike at our normal-ritual Daytona 500 party. I saw him fold, he turned white and he cried. We still weren't sure if Sr. was gone but as everyone watched we pretty much knew. That night we all headed up to the dealership to get Mike's tool cart (his tool cart was autographed by Sr.) so we had to go and get it, Mike was sure there would be looting going on since everyone knew he had this tool cart. We got to the garage and there were like 50 people already there, a memorial was already happening within a few hours of the announcement at the Chevy dealership. Everyone there was in tears, men and women, they had candles and they all were standing with the silent 3 fingers up salute. My friend Mike was inconsolable, nothing we could say or do could stop his tears. That memory of the love of Dale Earnhardt is burned into my memory forever.

That is my most memorible moment, not because it was so very sad when he died, but the fact he was so cleary loved by so many. Still touches me today. RIP Senior.

  13. The Kurt Busch / Rickey Craven battle is at the top of my list but following in close second is the Daytona 500 this year and the two underdogs working together to finish 1st & 2nd.

  14. Mine was the 07 Daytona 500 when Clint Bowyer sailed across the finish line 18th on his hood.

That was wild!  I'm with Biff.

  15. Talladega, July 1993

After leading the race most of the day, Rusty gets bumped by Dale and rolls down the frontstretch over 20 times. I think he finished 6th. I was SO MAD!!

    Runner-up

When Harvick ran up & over the car to get to Biffle. I thought he was going to beat the c**p out of him!

  16. when dale sr. finally won the Daytona 500, when Harvick barely eaked out Jeff Gordon for his first cup win, and when Jr. won daytona after his dad died

  17. That ol' 1979 Daytona 500. They came to a race...got a boxing match too.

  18. I've got 18 to pick from....but my favorite was Jr winning the Pepsi 400.  Awesome race all the way to the end.

Non-Jr.....Dale Sr winning the Daytona 500 in 98.

  19. when jeff gordon won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. My most favorite is when Jamie Mcmurray beat Kyle Busch at Daytona by inches

  21. Good Memories

    1. Bill Elliott winning the 2002 Pennsylvania 500 and the Brickyard 400 back-to-back. (This memory is special since 2002 is the year I went from watching NASCAR sometimes to becoming a full blown fan that doesn't miss a race.)

    2. Dale Sr. winning the 1998 Daytona 500.

    3. Bill Elliott starting his own race team.

    4. Bill Elliott selling his race team to Ray Evernham.

    5. Terry Labonte winning his 2nd Winston Cup title in 1996.

In case you can't tell, I'm a Bill Elliott fan.

    Bad Memories

    1. Dale Sr's death at Daytona.

    2. Neil Bonnett's death at Daytona.

    3. Adam Petty's death at Loudon.

    4. Davey Allison's death at Talladega.

    5. Rockingham and North Wilkesboro being shut down.

  22. Your favorite is the one where they gave JR extra horsepower to win in the Pepsi 400 in 2001?

    Wow, so is mine!

  23. In 1974 when I went to my first Pocono 500 race with my best friend.  I didn't have a clue what it was or who was there but I had the best time of my life and have been hooked since then.

  24. mine was Homestead 2007

(if you where on the channel i was on) you could see Matty & Katie Make out for a good long time

    lots of tounge lol

  25. The camera catching d**k Trickle smoking in his race car while the race was under caution!! Go d**k!!

  26. Mine is that dual to end all duals between Ricky Craven and Kurt Busch at Darlington in 2003.

  27. The first race at Martinsville last year.  It was an instant classic, with Jimmie and Jeff going at it for what seemed like forever.  The mentor and the student, owner and driver beating and banging on each other for nearly 30 laps or more.  When Jeff tucked underneath the 48 car on the last corner and moved him out of his groove I thought it was all over.  The side by side race to the finish line was great and one I will always remember.  It was my favorite track before that race but that cemented it as that and there will never be anything that will top that, for me personally.  The classic one for me is the infamous fight in the infield at Daytona, where Bobby Allison kicked Cale Yarborough's butt or as he says "his nose kept hitting my fist over and over."  LOL You gotta love Bobby.  One more is when Jr won the Firecracker 400, the first race back after his father died at the Daytona 500.  I'm not a real emotional guy but that one got the tears flowing.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  28. The only memory I have is about how boring it is. But that is just me. You have the right to like it as much as you want.

  29. not classic to anyone else but great for me, for "mothers day" in 2006 my husband got us tickets to talladega for the spring race. We had been casual fans who watched some of the races up to that point, but after actually going to a race I fell in utter love with the sport and have missed very few races on tv and been back to talladega every year since then, This year we even took our oldest son who is 7 with us.  What was so memorable about that year was i was like 7 months pregnant with our 3rd child and we walked about 5 miles total that Sunday but to beat all it was raining and cold and after sitting in the stands until they post phoned the race we ended up sneaking into the paid camping section and pitching a tent with some friends on there site to stay and watch the race the next day.  That was just so fun--and I was sober the entire time but still had a blast--(not all us nascar fans are drunk idiots all the time I managed to stay sober this year with our son with us also) But that was just one of the best memories that me and my husband share. The only bad thing was sleeping on the ground in a tent and being that pregnant.

  30. I would have to say when Tony won the championship in 2005. 2005 was my first year of actually watching and liking Nascar so to watch my favorite driver walk away at the end of the season with the championship in hand was awesome! I was so happy I even cried. Tony made my first year of liking Nascar and being a Nascar fan a lot of fun and gave me a lot of great memories that I will never forget!

  31. ward burton winning the 2002 daytona 500 and southern 500. two of the biggest races that a driver can win
