  1. I laugh a little when I see people put down bottles of water as something to keep.  I must be the only person who lives in a cold state.  Water would freeze after a short time and you would be left with a big block of ice.

    Everything else looks good

    Blanket

    Hat and gloves

I like the packs of hand warmers

A Whistle- very good if you are pinned in the car after an accident.  It worked for the chick in Titanic

Traction mats.  They sell them at most sores.  You put them under your tires for instant traction.

A jug of something abrasive like salt or sand

    A window scraper

    jumper cables

    1st aid kit

    road flares

    flashlight

some kind of non perishable food

That should keep you pretty prepared

  2. bottled water, packages of crackers, blanket, emergency flairs

  3. A flashlight, some food and water and a blanket are absolute essentials.

  4. Bourbon

  5. Blankets

    Flashlight

    First Aid Kit

Non Perishable Foods like crackers etc.

    Phone book or Cell Phone

Bottled Water - for drinking and small lacerations

  6. water

  7. Hi there!

Actually, there are quite a few things you'll need that can be used for a winter driving kit or just a general driving kit that can be used all year long.

    Here are some suggestions:

    - Flashlight and extra batteries

    - Rope and/or tape

    - Blanket and a change of clothes

    - Granola bars and bottled water (non perishable easy-to-open food if stranded)

    - Extra cell phone battery and/or cell phone charger

    - Matches/lighter

    - Hat, gloves, scarf

    - First aid kit

    - Portable radio

I'm sure there are other things, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Hope this list gets you started though!! :)

  8. Blankets or Sleeping Bags (one for each person)

    Properly fitting tire chains

Extra clothing, including hat and wind-proof pants, and warm footwear

Flashlight (with extra batteries, check at least monthly)

    First Aid Kit

    Jumper Cables

    Safety Flares

    Plastic Bags

Wooden Matches (sealed in waterproof container)

    Duct Tape

    Snack Food (high calorie, non-perishable)

    Drinking Water and/or Water Container

    Paper Towels

  9. Those emergency "heat" blankets should be a good addition.

  10. BUTT WIPE !!! it never fails...I'm tellin ya...and wet ones, for washing your hands, just incase you needed the first one, and on top of what others have added to the box, go to the hunting dept at your local big box store and get the glow sticks, there are packets called hand warmers, squish them up and they generate heat, and if you wat to get crazy, a good sleeping bag, it will keep your body heat more contained than a blanky. It would be helpful to know where your friend is starting and ending though, I drive truck all 48 and Canada and see alot of people get a little TOO carried away on what they think they need
