That's a pretty vague question.  Also depends on which parties our political entities are in.  Many Repubicans cater to big business.  Many Democrats want to turn this country into a socialist state and leave our borders wide open for illegals to come pouring in, draining us economically and increasing crime.  Niether party is there for regular law-abiding legal citizens of this once great nation.  It's time for a third party or another revolution to make this country as great as it once was.  s***w far lefties and far righties alike.  They are destroying us and the politicians love it.

Overall you have to give our government the "benefit of the doubt".  Afterall. . .we have a lot of artillery to defend our citizens and soldiers in place to deploy.

But. . .I don't know that the Politicians (themselves) are FOR the people; they have a "bad rap" for SOME reason.  Though it may not be unilateral. . .I think the politicians are out for THEMSELVES!

But this kind of query makes me agitated because I just want to go to Washington, D.C. and start yelling at all the LIARS!!!

Currently, as with any Republican government, they focus on world order rather than the Democratic governments which focus more on resolving the issues within it's own country.

I would also say that oil is a prime motivation for Bush Jnr, hence the conflicts in Iraq.
