  1. Protecting the constitution is something every elected office holder swears an oath to do.  But it does not stop there.  The Judiciary is in charge of deciding if the constitution is being adhered to or not.  This by the way is mentioned in the media all the time

  2. Apparently the government under George Bush is doing everything it can to do away with the U.S. Constitution completely.

Bush has committed more acts of treason under Constitutional law than even Richard Nixon. Sadly the GOP and Republicans are so ashamed to admit they've supported a treasoner.

The Democrats though are even worse. They portray themselves as the alternative and have done absolutely nothing for this country since Bill Clinton left office!

  3. Good question. It's not the responsibility of the government, it's the responsibility of the citizenry. That's what makes America great. The power is derived from the people, not the other way around. We have self correcting forces. It's called voting, not to mention the countless activist organizations. I wish the media would promote this concept more.

  5. You are correct---the media is somewhat mute in pointing out the trespasses on the constitution. Also SCOTUS refuses to hear cases that are needful in making precedent for enforcing the mandates of the constitution---which lets lower court rulings establish law from the bench by their rulings. The states are sucking up to the Federal  Government in order to gain as much funding from them as possible and this causes them to not use their constitutional powers but abdicate them to the Federal Government---All in All we are in a bad way, constitutionally speaking.

  6. The same thing the bull in the pasture does to protect that fence around him.

The ONLY purpose of the U.S. Constitution is to protect the liberties of the citizens by limiting government to its' legitimate powers, which are carefully stated in the Constitution. Only our own government can abridge our liberties; another government could do so only by first taking power and becoming our government.

The goal of nearly all politicians over the past century at least (with Ron Paul being the notable exception) has been to overcome those limitations. And they've been very successful at it.
