Is our true self the outside self or the inside self? or both?

Also, why do we feel one way about ourselves on the inside and then feel different(or dislike) about ourselves when we see ourselves on video? like, why do we not like ourselves when we see ourselves on video or pictures, but when we are not watching ourselves on video, we like ourselves better??

It just seems like feeling myself is so much better, but then when i see myself on video, i see so much that is wrong with me; not just physically but my persona/behavior/current attitude. Is it just because im judging myself, and not accepting myself and not trusting myself?? Is it sort of like, this is what i have to do to really completely love and accept myself? is by accepting how i look and act on the outside?? but what is my true side? the self that i feel inside, or the self that i see on the outside when i watch myself on video??

  1. Most of us do not like ourselves on photographs. That is quite natural. We think we look different from in the mirror. Which is true because we see it opposite.

Just don't worry about it. Be true to yourself and don't judge too harshly. If we all made ourselves we would all be perfect.

  2. Your true self is what you know inside.  But none of us knows herself perfectly.  Your "outside self" as you call it, is what others use to figure out what you are like--they see you walk, hear you talk, watch your expressions, get an impression of you.

When you view yourself on a video, you are seeing yourself in a new and different way.  As other see you.  This you should consider as an opportunity to refine your behavior and attitude as you think you need to.  But not as a big deal.
