What is outside of the universe?

Ah ha, this is a tough one. Well I think that it's kinda hard to get to the outside because the universe is expanding a few million lightyears per second, so...it would be hard to get to the outside. But let's pretend that IF time would stand still for a second, and you're ABLE to get to the edge of the universe (if there's any), I suppose what you will see there is something unbelieveable, something that your mind cannot fathom, something more beautiful and mystical than our universe.

But i've always thought that outside the universe would be God's Planning Table :).

who knows, if we break the boundaries of our universe(which i can't see how because its expanding at the speed of light) i'm guessing that we cause a tear in space-time continuum

Now, the two theories are that the universe is infinite in size or the universe is finite in size but unbounded. If the universe is infinite than obviously it has no edge and therefore no outside.

The second theory that the universe is finite but unbounded means it has a certain size but has no edge. Geometrically this makes little sense, but think of it this way. If I were to take a space ship in an absolutely strait line from Earth I would end up right back at Earth coming from the opposite direction I left from. Have you ever played an old video game where if you fly off the map you end up on the opposite side? Its like that. Its whats known as a hypersphere... a sphere with another dimension. That means no outside.
