  1. the PH for water is 7. the lower the PH... the more acidity the substance is. the numbers range from 1 to 14.

  2. ph is the scale that measures acidity/alkiline

  3. There are acids and there are bases, and pH is a measure of where a given solution stands on this scale (acidity vs. alkalinity).   By "solution", I mean a liquid (like water) that has some solids disolved in it.

The scale goes from 0 to 14 - the lower the number the more acidic a solution is, the higher the number, the more alcaline the substance is.  Actually, I think they have found some even stronger acids than were previously known, so I think the scale now goes down to -1.  7 is considered to be "neutral".  This would be the pH of distilled water.

So, essentially, they are saying that the water should be slightly alkaline (base).

  4. pH is the acidity level.  It is whether the water has excess H (acidic) or OH (basic) molecules in it.  There are probably additives at the pet store to control it.

  5. it has to do with the level of acid and base in something. like, acid on a pH scale is from 0-7 and the base is 7.1-14 or something like that. you could google it or something.

  6. I had one of those frogs. It's best to use distilled water for their homes because the water is more neutral (around pH 7) than ordinary tap water.

You could buy pH strips to tell you how acidic/basic the water is, or even a pH meter but those are expensive.
