  1. Pancakes

  2. pancakes ,my mother used to make them with a cottage cheese filling

  3. I am a former chef and they are a popular European dessert, not just in Germany, they are light crepes serve rolled with a sweet cottage cheese and lemon scented filling, a jam or preserve, nuts like walnuts or hazelnuts with a bit of sugar and cinnimon or even nutella the chocolate/hazelnut spread use on bread by children is common.

There served warm with a sprinkle of powdered/icing sugar, and usually come 2 to 3 per order, some places will charge per pancake.

I have had them in Hungarian, Romanian, German and Austrain restaurants, you can make them at home, I use club soda, I was told this by a Hungarian lady friend who ran a deli restaurant in Toronto Canada, this North York eatery was famous for them, and there were light as clouds, I just wish that they had stayed open, I loved the walnut ones but they added raisins to the cheese filling, a nice touch.

  4. ice cream pancake - something like crepe, it's REALLY sweet.
