  1. Parapsycology studies paranormal phenomenon, most often telekenesis. This is the ability to control the movement of something using only mental powers. In the science fiction "Star Wars" series, telekenesis was often used to move objects around. The Russians claim to have done many studies of telekenetic subjects who could influence the movement of small objects such as thimbals. In America, the most infamous telekenetic individual was a stage magacian named Uri Geller. He would hold a spoon in his hand and then suddenly, the top would appear to bend down on its own. This amazed many people and the psycology magazine "Psycology Today" ran an article on his inexplanable powers. However, Uri failed to preform the trick on the late night talk show "Johnny Carson".  Instead of allowing Uri to use his own spoon, Johnny presented the magacian a spoon from the studio coffee shop. Uri then began complaining that his "aura" wasn't right when the trick failed to work. He never bent the spoon on the show and later it was revealed the trick was a hoax. What Uri did was carefully bend the neck of the spoon back and forth by tiny amounts as he handled it. This induced what is known as "metal fatigue" in the spoon. Uri had learned the point at which the neck had become soft enough to allow the top to bend over. However, he always used the same kind of spoon, and the one Johnny gave him was composed of another metal alloy. Uri could not work the trick because the new spoon had another set of fatigue properties.

  2. Parapsychology is a field legitimate scientists choose to specialize in.  You aren't going to find too much in the way of accredited training in the area.  Draw your own conclusions from this fact.

  3. These will give you alot of information.  Good Luck and have a great day.

  4. Parapsychology is the study of anomalous mental phenomena, including extra-sensory perception (ESP), psychokinesis, or 'PK' (formerly called telekinesis, which is an obsolete term), and related subjects.   The focus of parapsychology studies in recent years is ESP (also called by some "anomalous cognition"), though some extensive PK research was done at the PEAR lab at Princeton until its closing last spring.  The US military had a significant involvement in parapsychology research throughout most of the last quarter of the 20th century, researching and applying an ESP-based skill known as 'remote viewing.'  If you are talking about the scientific field of parapsychology (which is what the term officially refers to), then training as a scientist is important.  Studies in human psychology, perception, experiment design, and statistics are core requirements.

If you are talking about 'parapsychology' in the popular vernacular, and are referring to one of the so-called 'mental arts,' such as psychometry, tarot-reading, mediumship, and so on, then the answer on training would differ from subject to subject.

  5. parapsychology is the study of the psychology over the natural. Parapsychology studies events that are over the abilities humans have. Like ESP OBE and many more. Parapsychology has nothing to do with common "psychics" who use their "abilities"  in a quackish way in order to have money. Parapsychology is studied in universities, scientists are working on several themes in order to understand what really happens.

  6. It's not a very respected field. At least by Scientists and Academics. There's a few colleges that offer courses.I doubt anyone is making a living at it.
