What is partial birth abortion?

sorry i might sound stupid but ive never heard of it until i just read a previous question about it. is it just like a regular abortion? i googled it and all i seen was something about it being done later in pregnancy. im only 17 weeks and i could never imagine getting rid of my angel!

It is when a 'Doctor' partially delivers a viable baby and scrambles its brains before removing the child from the birth canal.

It's murder.

Obama believes this should be legal.

is that they wait until the baby's head is out. then kill it.

partial birth abortion is HORRIBLE! they induce labor and u actually deliver the baby.... but as soon as the body comes out the doctor cuts through the back of the neck to get into the brain.... i dont quite remember completely. either they suck the brain out.... or they just break the neck. either way it is HORRIBLE! but since the head was not delivered at the time i guess its still considered abortion rather than MURDER!!

Also i agree, abortions are not completely wrong. some people have good reasons for getting an abortion. but partial birth abortion is NOT abortion!! it is M U R D E R!!! i mean, u have to deliver the baby n e ways, y not just give it up for adoption?

this is a form of abortion performed late in pregnancy.  the doctors partially deliver the baby.  they insert something into the head and basically suck out the brain.  fact is they are killing the baby.  you are right.   how they can allow such a thing to be done at any time is horrible, but it is even worse when done to a baby that has a chance of survival even if born early.

Partial Birth Abortions are banned now. There is not one thing wrong with a woman who may choose to have an abortion. You do not know why they are having one so do not judge people.

something supper horrible every1 think abortion is all out wrong but its not in my opinion but that is just plain wrong its when they deliver baby feet first and let it suffocate in ur uterus the whole scissors thing is untrue its unethical and no surgeon would ever do it. abortion should only be done with in 12 wks of preg. anything after that is wrong

Usually they induce labor and when it is "partially born," when the head is out, they will "abort" it by jamming scissors into its brain or something horrible like that. Currently in America partial birth abortions are under a ban, concerning those between 18-26 weeks. The ban makes me happy because preemies born as early as 21 weeks have been known to survive when the doctor's actually fight for life instead of taking it away.
