What is pay-at-cashier at gas stations? How does it work?

do you go inside and say which one you have, with the nozzle already in

or do you start it? then you go inside to pay at the cashier?

  1. Depends on the place. In a lot of these stations you have to leave them some money as security if you're filling up, or just give them the full amount of whatever you're getting if a set amount.

    I wouldn't lift the nozzle, though, until I went in and paid. If you're getting a set amount they can set the pump to automatically shut off at the amount you want if you haven't started it yet.


  2. You go in and pay (or give them your card or money and tell them you are filling up), tell them what pump you are at, then pump your gas.

  3. When me and my aunt go to put gas she gives me the money and then i go inside and pay, be4 my aunt has even gotten out of the car. if u pass more than what u paid then u go inside and pay the rest
