What is philosophical insight?

I'm writing a dramatic story in the form of a diary and I'm required to inject some sort of philosophical insight into each entry of the diary.

My teacher hasn't explained to us what philosophical insight is and I'm left wondering?

Let us say you are writing about a neighbor's cat pouncing on a mouse. You wanted to chase the cat away but held back thinking ' well, the other neighbor's dog chased the cat yesterday'.

The insight is that, it is in the natural order of things for a food chain to exist and it is not for us to interfere.
