What is piped-in music?

I'm reserving an hotel room in Guardalavaca, Cuba, and it says that there is "piped-in music" in the room.

What is that?

Music that will be playing in the room automatically...like when you're in a grocery store or an elevator...the music is piped in.

Are you booking at Paradisus Rio De Oro Hotel or Grand Playa Turquesa?

According to the hotel specifications, there is music piped-in but you should still able to choose to shut it off...it would be 'relaxing' music...like background music.

I thought it was like elavator music.

As others have posted most likely like muzak you have at home.  By the way, Guardalavaca is a fantastic beach.  Be sure to go on Sundays when Cuban families will be enjoying their day off  having lunch or dinner on the beach.
