What is pocket surfing?

Question

Ive surfed for a while now, but im not one for all the lingo, and am fairly unattached from the surfing culture today. Just want to know what pocket surfing means? its probably really stupid and obvious and i have various ideas of what it could be, but someone will know it on here! and it'll get you 10 points. cheers

If that you mean surfing the pocket which is the part of the wave the arc beneath the cresting lip of the wave you get most of your speed from pocket so to keep a ride going longer most surfers would do a maneuver that involves going back to the pocket to generate more speed

the pocket is the power spot on the wave where your board will get the most speed from ussually when pumping down the line you will feel these spots the most. try take time to notice this and you will gain better wave knowledge and improve your surfing trmendously.
